a while back i was asked to paint a large mural on the facade at Linienstr. 142 in Berlin Mitte to coincide with the launch of the new public art venue ‘re:MMX’.
a slight departure from the portraits that i have been concentrating on in the last year or so, this mural titled Levels, which is meant to represent construction and progress relates back to the more abstract 3D work i was doing a few years ago. it’s always a good time when you get to use a lift and paint on such a large scale. hopefully many more projects like this one to come in the future.
Big thanks to Jonathan and Rebecca and the rest of their re:MMX team for helping realize this project.
If you weren’t able to make it out to the opening of Metropolitan last night at Strychnin Gallery you missed a good time. no need to panic however, the show runs until the beginning of February so you’ve still got time to go check it out. this piece titled Ghost was my contribution . thanks to Christian Rothenhagen and Strychnin Gallery for inviting me to take part in the show.

Coco Berliner recently contacted me after seeing my Giants at the CoVerlag opening last spring and wanted to spotlight me as their October artist. Follow this link to CocoBerliner.de to read the interview and see the great photos taken by their photographer Nadja.
We finally got around to creating a website and facebook fansite for my side project JBAK with artist Addison Karl. Please “follow” the website and “Like” the FB page to get updates on all JBAK news as well as photos and videos of our recent work.

I was recently asked to paint a large mural (16 meters high) to coincide with the Launch of a new artspace in Berlin. the space is called re:MMX and is run and curated by the same team that brought Berlin the original MMX artspace. the team has been asked to come back to their original location and create a new space with a new mission. come on out to the Launch of re:MMX on September 15th and see some JBAK paintings that have never before been shown to the public as well as a very diverse show including many great artists.
